The Props of 2007...

This was one hell of a year. Many new props including ones for a local haunted Coal Mine.

TOUR-ED MINE PROPS

The first props below are a group of dead miners fabricated from fiberglass manikin bodies and our new GraveStalkers Zombie Heads.

The helmet lights are fabricated from cheap twin "D" cell flashlights.

These are two full bucky skeleton corpses with pneumatic mouth tubing that whips around when triggered.

Just a few of the many light fixtures created for the mine and other structures. Most of them where built using our GS prop building candles.

This pneumatic prop was build to attach to the top of an old operating room table. It fits down over the existing stainless steel bed surface to create a realistic morgue embalming table.

The metal prop above was originally intended to be used as a candle holder. I suggested that it be used as a canary bird cage used in the mine to test for poison gas. As you can see the bird didn't make it... I later aged the black metal to look like red rust (not shown).

The two miners above are full solid foam bodies. They are part of a set of three used inside the mine in a derailed "jeep" personal carrier.

Here is the third miner that goes with the two above. This guy is pnematic and jerks forward toward the guests walking by the jeep set. The helmet lights are all wired to come on when the prop is activated.

A new GS skull mirror.

That concludes the props built for the mine project. At least the ones I took pictures of.

THE PROPS OF DARK WORKS 2007

Two new light fixtures using GS candle sets.

I reused several of the masks from older props on the new ones built for this season. I also started to move away from the bulky MM prop look into a slimmer full body prop style. This is another prop based on the pneumatic Twitch prop.

This one is built like the Zombie above however when the body and head moves it's arms also move upward.

I redesigned the Janitor prop for this year. A full body prop that is hunched over his clogged toilet. When triggered he stands up with his back to the wall. Not shown is the dirty plunger I added in his left hand.

Five new full foam corpsed built from scratch. The one in the red shirt has a pneumatic mouth tube.

This guy stands in our pond out front of the haunt building. His feet are foamed to a cement pad to keep him in place. A nice stream of water is pumped up to his zipper for a realistic peeing effect. Even zombies have to go sometimes.

The pneumatic prop above is designed liked the Ozzy prop. However a second piston is added to lift the head and arms as the whole body swings around into view.

This is another re-worked pneumatic prop that was inside the haunt for a few years. I changed out the arms, face, hair and clothing.

Above is a new FCC (flying crank corpse) prop that my older son helped construct.

This is a great looking mirror but a crappy picture of it. You can get a better look on the DW2007 page.

I needed some new eye candy to fill some spaces so I gathered up a few extra buckies and went with the look you see above.

I always like to change the look of the main entrance so I built this guy for behind the DW sign. It's hard to tell from the pics but this one it really large. He also serves as a giant fog head...

Well that's just a quick look at 2007 more to come on the DW 2007 page.
