| New props
for 2002!
Many of the new larger display pieces
will be shown on the Dark Works 2002 page.
This as you can tell is the new wall
decor facing the driveway leading down to the haunt. It is
quite impressive and bigger than it looks. Overall its approx.
9' long x 4' wide.

I reworked many of the Bucky corpses
making them into lighting fixtures which I fell make them
more useful. The middle picture is the corpse from the 2nd
volume of our HHPB Video Series.

Another reworked corpse used as a holder
for the new TSP Banner.

The Angel of Death static prop from
Video Vol. #1 less the wings.

The pic to the left is the large fixture
(2' high) used over the haunt exit last year. I found nice
compact silk flame units inside plastic pumpkins at Jo-Ann
Fabrics. The existing bulb sockets where removed from the
light fixture and the flame unit chopped from the pumpkin.
The finished result looks and sounds like a gas light! The
pic to the right shows the lighted sign from last year with
new text. We always have problems with people (even in a group
as small as 2) being 10 feet apart from one another!

Ok, one quick peek at part of the new
Dark Works structure.

On to the new pneumatic props for 2002.
Many of these where based on original designs from the ScareFactory
catalog.

This is one of the nicest pneumatic
props we ever built. When triggered it goes from a sitting
position, several feet up and forward toward the guests.

The Barrel prop has been redesigned.
The head now remains static and the hands jump out to grab
you. I also made a step forward and started using muslin fabrics
to create clothing for the new and redesigned props.

This chained coffin looks harmless
enough but when triggered the "undead" inside bangs
the upper lid open and closed violently.

This is the new Monument prop. The
reaper is in a static lower position at first (left). When
triggered it flies backward and remains above the monument
base till the switch is flicked off. Then it slowly lowers
back to the rest position. More on this prop and its use when
the Dark Works 2002 page is up.

This is a simple angled pop-up prop
mounted into a frame for easy mounting behind a window cutout
on a wood wall. The middle pic shows the prop fully extended.

The "Ozzy Prop" was re-dressed
to make it lighter than last year's design.

This is the Zombie Pop-Out prop which
is designed for use in a wall cutout. The pic to the left
shows it in the rest position. Once triggered it comes out
and up toward the guests. It's a nice compact unit which works
really well!
