| The Terror
Continues...
We started designing these props back
in November of '98. It's a year round project as many of you
know! The first three props are also detailed in our first
Home Haunter's Prop Building Handbook. This year we are doing
our first walk through haunt. It's located under our massive
deck at the back of our house and is left up year round! From
the outside it looks like just another part of the deck, but
inside, well that's another story!
Visit the Shallow Grave Page next if
you haven't already seen it.

This is our new air powered crate prop!
It is the center piece of our walk through. The whole story
line revolves around the crate and the person inside.

Here he is in the semi flesh! The nice
thing about this prop is the fact that you don't have to crate
it up at the end of the season! OK, I'll stop now.

This is our Gate Keeper prop. He stands
holding a stone slab for all our guests to read. A lamp from
under his hood lights the sign so it can be placed in total
darkness.... As usual we built this one much to large for
the area we planned on using him. But man does he look great
or what! At least one prop company thought so and copied it.
Still ours is much nicer!

Another one of our works shown here
in progress. This guy kept our guests from wondering up the
stairs to the top level of our deck. He looks much better
after being airbrushed.

Shown here finished hard at work!

Learn how to build most of the props
shown below in our
Home
Haunter's Prop Building Handbook 2.
Here is our Night Watchman! Need we
explain the TSP on the banner? He is the largest of this years
props at over 7 foot.

The skull stanchions were built to
keep guests from wandering around the driveway after exiting
the haunt. The skull are part of our Grave Stalkers product
line. Inside each skull, inserted into the post is a low voltage
bulb which creates a perfect glow through each skull.

Some of you may know this guy, for
it is he that brought us our baby boy this past summer. Yes,
it's The Stork!

Another air powered pop-up prop. Located
in the first window at the beginning of our haunt. It worked
very well, even scared the bravest of souls.

The Acolyte is another new addition
to our family. He will also come in handy for the Christmas
Holidays!

Our Scare Crow prop is lighted with
low voltage spots. The plan is to use this Monster Mud prop
every year.

Yes that's right, your looking at a
4th Class Budget Bucky!! We got the basic technique from the
DiStefano How To Build A Corpse Manual. But expanded this
method into full skeleton production. The results are outstanding.
They really look like freshly exhumed corpses! These pictures
don't do them justice.

The Wall Prop is something we came
up with for the first room of the haunt. The doors forcefully
split open exposing the walls inner secret. The 40 skulls
below keep guests from stepping to close.

And here is a closer look at the corpse
we used in the wall.

A few of our light fixtures used throughout
the haunt! We try to use only clear incandescent light. No
blacklights, strobes, or colored bulbs if possible. We also
try to use very little wattage in most rooms. Our main room
was lit with only 2 flicker bulbs (6 watts total). Once your
eyes have adjusted, it almost seems too bright!

You might recognize the Cocoon Victim
from last year. We airbrushed the face and hand lighter to
be more visible in low light. The skull has a rustic bell
hanging from it which was to be rung if someone was going
through a second time. That way the effects operator would
know to change the order around to give them another unexpected
scare. But we went to voice operated radios which allowed
the operator to hear everything going on from start to finish.
