Welcome
to Dark Works 2007...

This year went by too fast. I had
to get everything changed around in less than 2 months. With
all the fine tuning over the last 9 years, this DW was by
far one of the best. I took 600+ pictures so it took some
time to sort out the best shots of the year. Enjoy...

This is the new
guy for our front display replacing the scarecrow prop. He
stands 8 feet tall and is constructed mainly of foam, latex
skin and lots of vines. Recognize the head?

My son wants
to get into prop building so I thought this FCG would be a
good starter for us to do together.

I changed the
entrance structure (again).

Another year
for the vampire corpse prop. There are many more pictures
of this prop in the 2006 pages.
Top of Page

This prop is
really something to see up close and personal. The DW sign
had to be remounted to sit on the new gate roof. The prop
is then attached to the sign platform to make one large ass
piece.

Sorry no smoke
in these two shots. I did have him working the nights we where
in operation. See the pics from '06.

The same rules
sign and the main entrance gate.

Above is a picture
of the signal system used this year. One light signals when
guests first enter the main building the other when they exit
the back of the haunt. This way we could keep a steady timed
flow with no problems.

This is the first
hallway before the first outdoor room.
Top of Page

This room is
mainly an actor room. The pictures are in order from the top
down. The open coffin is pneumatically slammed shut when triggered
by an actor standing in the upright toe-pincher.

This year you
walk over the pond via a new bridge.
Top of Page

This required
moving doorways and the water wheel.
Top of Page

Left-Center-Right
shots looking from the beginning of the bridge.
Top of Page

Walking over
the bridge is our never ending pisser prop.

Several hundred
skulls and bones where scattered around the courtyard. The
corpsed guy above was placed opposite a bench that another
actor sat in.

A new location
for last years scarecrow prop. The vines add the perfect touch.

A few different
angles of the courtyard. Also shown above is the new tunnel
passage way.

The main entrance
into the haunt building was reversed to it's original design.
If you remember last year we took guests down the side ramp
and in the side exit door. This change requires about 2 weeks
of work and involves relocating all the props, timer and sensor
packs, lighting, and some walls.
Top of Page

This hasn't changed,
I just like taking pictures of it!
Top of Page

The new bodies
inside the first room. The two sitting are static.
Top of Page

Just before leaving
this room as you go through the curtains the prop shown above
activates right next to you.
Top of Page

Closet one has
a pneumatic zombie inside.
Top of Page

Making a left
at the mirror you come to closet two. This is the first time
you encounter the actor inside the haunt.
Top of Page

Down the next
hallway takes you head first into a corpse prop that is hidden
in the shadows. A motion sensor triggers an accent light just
as you're about to walk into him. Just to the right of the
prop is what appears to be a doorway. But it's really a mirror
reflection of the area around the corner.
Top of Page

Around the corner
to the Ozzy pneumatic.
Top of Page

In the next mirror
you can see what's coming up. More guests are to nervous to
really pay that close attention to the details. Being her
second year, I only added more eye candy to this set.
Top of Page

A few more short
halls takes you to closet 3 with a new guy inside.
Top of Page

Standing in his
dark closet, the prop is activated which also lights up the
area showing the wall decor and front of the pneumatic prop.
Top of Page

All of the book
cases are now cut down to only 2" deep.
Top of Page

I moved this
prop back into the library area. This is he's last year in
his current weight class. Next year I am planning his diet
for a slimmer thinner look. out the door from this room is
another mirror to confuse you.
Top of Page

The shitter was
moved further back in the haunt to a larger space. The prop
was completely redesigned to move up away from the toilet
and now holds a dirty plunger.
Top of Page

At the end of
the hall is a standing static prop looking out from behind
a dark curtain of Dorp. A motion light triggers right before
you hit into her.
Top of Page

Turning to the
left takes you through another set of curtains into a room
where the twitch witch prop now sits.
Top of Page

A few pics of
the wall decor in the witch room.
Top of Page

You are now at
the back of the haunt where the last prop is hidden behind
long swatches of hanging Dorp.
Top of Page

This last pneumatic
prop swings around into view while raising her head and arms.
Top of Page

Out the door
and down the ramp to the next gate into the tunnel. It's hard
to see in the picture above, but there are two sliding window
actor scares on the side of the building.
Top of Page

The tunnel was
completely dark and fogged. Cotton cord hangs from the tunnel
roof to drag across your head.
Top of Page

I moved last
years in-wall corpse from inside the haunt into a tunnel wall
outside.
Top of Page

Past the corpse
prop is another section of black tunnel housing the air cannon.
Once past the cannon are heavy PVC plastic strips used to
keep the tunnel dark and block the view from both directions.
Top of Page

Through the strips
directly in front of your path is a new full skeleton prop.
Top of Page

The last outdoor
room houses a prop that I re-worked from inside the main haunt.
When triggered he rises up inside the wall and stretches his
arms up above its head. Out the gate takes you back up the
q-line.

That's about it for DW 2007 hope you
enjoyed it. I plan on putting together a new tour video if
all goes well for release this spring.
